about

COVER ART & Illustration by Sandro Predragovic.
BL BOOM Alter-Culture Association are continuing with their work as a not yet fully formed label. BL BOOM RECORDS proudly presents their second compilation that showcases bands from Bosnia and Herzegovina. The still unofficial NGO BL BOOM Alter-Culture Association does not own their own studio yet, so we are currently only able to publish compilations that were recorded by other people. We are acting only as publishers. We did not record or produce any of the material in this compilation. For recording and producing details, please read the band biographies which are listed below. This time, our compilation is called OVERTONE COMPILATION: VOLUME I and it showcases excellent work by bands that play music such as post rock, psychedelic, funk, punk rock, avant-garde, instrumental, experimental and similar. We want to help bands who live and work in a country where such a profession is not very respected. One of our missions is still to help artists from our country, to push their work forwards and to showcase what they have done and what they are doing, not only to the people from the Balkans, but also to the rest of the world. You can find detailed information about each band below. Thank you for listening!

KARTOFEL OSVETNIK (BANJA LUKA)

They are meat eaters, tobacco smokers, chronic lovers of alcoholic drinks, friends with everyone except with their own bodies, people who let their beards and mustaches go. They are very naughty on the stage. They run away from fake estrada glamour and they are champions in gretting the morning hours at after parties. They encourage dirty verses and words and they are the total opposite of music treds. They are the so called founders of a new musical genre that hasn’t been named yet. KARTOFEL OSVETNIK are famous musicians from Banja Luka, gathered around a big, good, nicely fed man with blonde hair and big twisted moustaches. He is the song writer and man who does bizarre stunts on the stage, Aleksandar Aco Marković. Their song Šalter is a track from their first album named Depopivo. They released Depopivo during the end of 2013 through Slušaj Najglasnije! Records. The album was recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by Ninoslav Dobrijević Tiki from Digital Boyler Studio in Banja Luka.

FUTAVCI (SARAJEVO)

By the initiative of Mirza Salković (Guitar) and by Kemal Čebo’s (Vocals) outcry, an idea was born to gather a group that would sometimes and to their own delight, play music and make a great show. After several successful gatherings and a couple of original songs, they saw that they needed a rhythm section. Ismar Žalica (Bass) joined the band as a third member and gave them a good lesson in playing. After that, Edvin Buturović joined the band as their drummer. Their name was decided accidentally when their friend jokingly called them so. Futavci possess a raw and young energy, good dancing rhythms and socially responsible lyrics. Even though they generally play rock, Futavci like to play around with other genres such as pop, punk, hip hop, funk, SKA, metal and similar. So far, Futavci have recorded their first album named Socijalni Rock. Their song Mademoiselle is a track on this album. The album was recorded in Sremska Mitrovica in the Shock Room Studio. The production was done by Nemanja Velimirović.
